France Poker Awards Set for Deauville on February 3

Erwann Pecheux

France’s live poker community is preparing to celebrate the best moments of 2014, as this year’s edition of the France Poker Awards kicks off in Deauville on Tuesday, Feb. 3.

The event, which is set to take place at the O2 bar in the Barrière Casino, will begin at 9 p.m. local time during Day 2 of the 2015 European Poker Tour in Deauville.

Organized by the Global Poker Index, the France Poker Awards is one of the most anticipated get-together of the year by France’s poker industry, as it represents one of the very few occasions for the best players and industry personalities to meet and share ideas about the game.

Lobbying and networking aside, this year’s edition of the France Poker Awards is set to reward the best players, personalities and event of 2014 according to seven different categories that include the Best French Player of the Year, the Best Live Tournament of the Year, and poker’s Ambassdor of the Year.

Although Erwann Pecheux and Florence Allera have already secured the title of Player of the Year and Female Player of the year, a jury composed by the GPI President Alex Dreyfus, the CEO of Poker52 Bruno Benveniste, France’s poker legend Bruno Fitoussi, and poker journalists Matthieu Sustrac and Laurent Dumont will nominate the winners of all the other categories.
