It may have only been a couple of months since GTO Wizard launched its Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) product, but the development team have already launched a series of major updates that have added a bunch of new features to it. Keep reading to find out more.
First, heads-up PLO is now not only live but also fully customizable from preflop to the river. The update enables PLO players to nodelock their opponents' mistakes before building player profiles to train against them. Users can now solve real postflop ICM spots for regular and bounty tournaments, and do so using an expanded preflop library.
Some of the major updates since GTO Wizard launched its PLO solver include:
- Heads-up Solving: There are now fully customizable heads-up strategies from preflop to the river.
- Nodelocking: This allows you to model your opponents' mistakes and exploit them.
- Postflop ICM: Take your PLO tournament game to the next level with tournament solutions with configurable prizes, stacks, and bounties.
- Study Upgrades: Improved filtering and subcategories, a new preflop matrix, and breakdown tab all help make studying PLO easier than ever.
- Trainer Upgrades: The trainer has been upgraded with multi-tabling, drill, a new info panel, and performance-related statistics.
- Engine Upgrades: Solutions are now faster and more accurate.
- New solutions: GTO Wizard has expanded the cash and MTT preflop libraries.
The addition of a fully customizable heads-up PLO solver is worth the GTO Wizard subscription fee alone. As GTO Wizard states in its latest blog post:
"Heads-up is the most skill-intensive format in poker. Most hands are obligated to play, so edges are magnified because there's nowhere to hide. Every mistake, every imbalance, every exploitable tendency becomes more obvious heads-up."
Nodelocking to Help Exploit Your Opponents' Mistakes
Most PLO solvers taught users how to play a balanced strategy, but thanks to PLO in GTO Wizard, it is now possible to learn how to exploit the imbalanced strategy of foes and capitalize on their mistakes.
Frequency locking allows PLO users in GTO Wizard to set strategies at a single node. Once the range frequencies are applied, the powerful engine finds the least exploitable way to achieve the desired frequencies.
"For example, does your opponent not 3-bet enough HU? Decrease their raising frequency in the nodelocking menu, and watch how the SB punishes them by opening much wider."
Study Against Predefined Fully Trainable Player Profiles; Or Create Your Own
The Player Profile option takes things to another level. These profiles apply persistent, exploitable tendencies to a player at every decision point. There are eight default player profiles: an opponent who is GTO-savvy, fish, calling stations, maniacs, TAG regs, LAG regs, nits, and a Glass Cannon; the latter is someone who attacks aggressively but defends cautiously.
Once set, these player profiles are applied to every street, meaning users can play full hands against a maniac in the Trainer and then apply another filter to see how the perfect strategy differs.
GTO Wizard is Now Faster Than Ever Before, And By Some Distance
The GTO Wizard blog goes into great detail about some of the other key upgrades to the PLO in GTO Wizard, but one thing, in particular, caught PokerNews' eye: the faster solving power of the engines.
Solvers require a lot of power due to the sheer number of calculations their engines must make. GTO Wizard isn't happy at having the best and most accurate engine; it wants the fastest, too.
We're not sure how they have done it, but the tech team at GTO Wizard has made solving faster on every street in its PLO product. PLO river spots now solve about twice as fast as when they first launched, doing so to the same 0.1% pot exploitability.
In addition to being faster, GTO Wizard has increased the maximum allowed tree size to accommodate deeper stacked solves.
Furthermore, while working on the PLO side of things, GTO Wizard made several technological breakthroughs that they have since applied to its Hold'em solver. Those technology improvements have resulted in No-Limit Hold'em spots now solving between 3x and 6x faster without losing accuracy!
PLO5 and Mobile Support is in the Pipeline
As you can tell, GTO Wizard is not the kind of company that rests on its laurels even when it has a stellar product. The team is working around the clock to bring users new and exciting features, including 5-Card PLO, expanding the preflop library, aggregated reports, and mobile support.
While there is no concrete deadline for those new additions, you can bet your bottom dollar that you won't have to wait too long for the next GTO Wizard NLHE or PLO upgrade.
