Poker, Golf and Tapas: The $40,000 Guaranteed 888Live Marbella Begins Today

888live Marbella

Sunny Spain is about to host the next leg of the 888Live, the live poker tournament series organized by 888poker that aims to make it easier for amateurs and recreational players to discover the thrill of international live poker events.

Set to run at the Casino Marbella in Marbella, Costa del Sol, from April 8-12, the new 888Live Marbella plans to spoil its players by offering a great location, lots of good poker, and by giving everyone the opportunity to spend some quality time at one of the many golf courses in the area.

Featuring a two-day, €440 Main Event with a $40,000 guarantee, the 888Live Marbella is a good opportunity for many to make their first steps in the live tournament poker world and, at the same time, enjoy one of Europe's warmest spots at this time of the year.

The event's calendar includes also two different 888Live satellites to the Main Event running on Wednesday, April 8 and Thursday, April 9, one live freeroll open to 888poker qualifiers, and two side events on Saturday and Sunday with buy-ins of €30 and €110, respectively.

If you are thinking that the calendar would look better with some more events in it, this probably means that you are not too familiar with the formula that 888poker decided to adopt in the organization of their live poker events.

Known for their laid-back and relaxed atmosphere, the 888Live tournaments usually offer the possibility to combine poker with other fun activities — and Marbella is no exception to the rule.

Besides Marbella's buzzling nightlife, players at the 888Live will also get the chance to leave the poker tables and get free access to some golf courses in the area to play with friends and members of the 888poker team as Sweden's Sofia Lovgren, who's presence at the event has been confirmed.

In Marbella, the organizers of the 888Live aim to replicate the success of the 888 Poker on Ice Live held in Austria in January, when Germany's Thorsten Facius battled through a field of 113 players to win the €440 Main Event for €13,000 at the end of a remarkable weekend that combined live poker with high-adrenalin ski and snowboard activities, luxury spa treatments and VIP parties.
