WPT Amsterdam €3,300 Main Event Kicks Off Monday! 0001

On Monday, May 11, Holland Casino in Amsterdam will take center stage in the poker world as the World Poker Tour will kick off its €3,300 Main Event at 2 p.m. local time. This marks the historic first time that the main tour heads to Amsterdam, and plenty of big names will be in the mix for big action and big money.

With two starting flights — Day 1a on Monday and Day 1b on Tuesday — players will have the option of one reentry per day if they happen to bust. Everyone will start with 30,000 in tournament chips, and the official WPT final table will take place on Saturday, May 16.

The PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on hand for live coverage from the event, and you can follow along starting Monday.

Many, including PokerNews contributor Remko Rinkema, are hopeful for a sellout crowd, and that should create a large top prize for the winner.

The €3,300 Main Event won't be the only event on the WPT Amsterdam schedule this week, though, and there is a lot of action left for players looking to dive in. On Tuesday, a €330 Pot-Limit Omaha/No-Limit Hold'em Mixed event will take place, and then Wednesday will have a €750 8-Max No-Limit Hold'em event. On Thursday, a €1,500 Big Stack No-Limit Hold'em event will take place that is planned for three days, and Friday and Saturday will have a €550 Pot-Limit Omaha and €300 Turbo No-Limit Hold'em, respectively.
