Jason Somerville has announced the dates for his next Run It Up event, and it will once again take place in Reno at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, running from May 24-30, 2016.
That's right, folks. In the week immediately preceding the World Series of Poker, "The Biggest Little City in the World" will be filled with plenty of fun poker action. The highlight of the festival is the 2016 Run It Up Reno $565 Main Event that takes place May 27-30 and comes with a juicy $150,000 guarantee on the prize pool.
The $565 Main Event will feature three starting flights, with Day 1a on Friday, May 27, and Day 1b and 1c on Saturday, May 28. Day 1a and 1b will both start at 12 p.m. local time, whereas Day 1c, which is played as a turbo starting flight so players have one last chance to advance to Day 2, will begin at 9 p.m. In the $565 Main Event, players will be allowed one max entry per flight.
Occurring in October 2015, the last Run It Up Reno Main Event attracted 318 entries and created a prize pool of $159,000 — all with just two starting flights instead of three. Nick Aguilera won the event for $42,830. It is highly expected that the 2016 Run It Up Reno $565 Main Event will attract more entries, create a larger prize pool, and generate a bigger first-place prize — three great reasons for you to take part!
While it is the $565 Main Event serving as the star attraction in Reno, there are plenty of other great events and entertaining festivities on the schedule. First and foremost, there are 15 other feature events on the schedule, with at least two side events taking place each day from May 24-30 and buy-ins ranging from $85 to $235. On Thursday, May 26, Somerville will be hosting a poker seminar at 12 p.m. for all to attend, plus the Peppermill Poker Room will be jam packed with a wide variety of cash games running throughout the festival.
Additionally, Rob Cesternino of Rob Has a Podcast will be onsite to host his award-winning podcast live with special guests.
Room rates for attendees start at $79, and you can click here or call (866) 821-9996 to book. Be sure to mention code RIU2016.
There is an Early Booking Special for the first 50 guests that book a stay between May 23-30 consisting of four nights or more and including Friday and Saturday nights. Those that qualify will receive a $200 room credit towards their stay at checkout.

In similar fashion to the 2015 Run It Up Reno festival, PokerNews has partnered with Somerville to provide live coverage from the event. The PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on the floor delivering hand histories, chip counts, photos, payouts, and more from each of the 16 events, plus the PokerNews Podcast plans on recording a few shows while in Reno.
PokerNews is looking forward to a great event filled with fun and entertainment, and we hope to see you there.
