Kick Off 2017 in Morocco With the WSOP Circuit Marrakech, Jan. 19-22
The year 2016 was big for poker at the Casino de Marrakech with big events all year round and huge first-place prizes for players from all over the world.
Mathieu Selides had the best possible start of his year, winning the WSOP International Circuit Marrakech Main Event for €95,479 in January. Portuguese Pro Henrique Pinho scored his biggest live cash winning the 2016 Marrakech Poker Open for €35,800 and hometown hero Rachid Rami won the WPT National Marrakech for almost $100,000!
When all the festivities are behind us and the dust has settled after eating and drinking too much over the holidays, Casino de Marrakech is ready to kick off 2017 with a bang. Once again, the World Series of Poker International Circuit Event is hitting Marrakech, with an action packed tournament schedule.
The €1,350 buy in (15,000 DH) Main Event starts Jan. 19 and has two starting days. The big finale is on Jan. 22. Besides the Main Event, there are a plethora of side events, ranging from €45 satellites to a €2,700 Super High Roller.
On top of regular poker events, there's an Open Face Chinese Poker event with a buy-in of €135. There won't be a WSOP Circuit ring up for grabs in that event, but there will be plenty available in the other events that run from Jan. 14-22.
