Thomas Boivin Wins Event #6 at Aussie Millions for AUD$117,950

Thomas Boivin Aussie Millions

Belgian player Thomas Boivin topped the AUD$1,150 six-max event for AUD$117,950 at the 2017 Aussie Millions. Event #6 at Crown Melbourne drew 516 players for a prize pool of AUD$528,900. Boivin will move north of $600,000 in career tournament dollars with the cash and he's off to a very nice start at the Aussie Millions — he also finished eighth in the AUD$1,150 Shot Clock event won by Thomas Muehloecker, pocketing AUD$5,995 for that score.

Boivin had to overcome some strong competition at the final table.

Sixth-place finisher Andrew Hinrichsen is a local and has produced over $1.2 million in cashes, much of it at Aussie Millions. He has made a number of final tables at the series and won a small event way back in 2010 for AUD$12,850.

German player Manig Loeser, officially listed as from the U.K., got fifth. He has over $1.7 million in earnings, highlighted by two top-three runs at the World Series of Poker.

Kitty Kuo is Taiwan's all-time top tournament earner, and she padded those stats with another AUD$47,385. She got sixth in the Main Event here last year for AUD$270,000, with Ari Engel eventually finishing as the champ.

Finally, the highest placing local was Joel Feldman, who finished runner-up. Nearly all of his earnings have come in his native Melbourne, but this is just his second score at Aussie Millions.

Other notable players among the 53 to cash in the event included Muehloecker, Steffan Sontheimer, Daniel Tang, Darryll Fish, Duff Charette, Martin Finger, Johanssy Joseph, and Joe Ebanks.
