  • Tam Truong nailed down his eighth Aussie Millions cash with a win in Event #21.

Australia's Tam Truong notched his eighth Aussie Millions cash in a huge way by winning Event #21: A$1,500 No Limit Hold'em Deep Freeze for A$118,110 ($94,161).

The event attracted 395 entrants to generate a massive A$513,500 prize pool. This represented a sizeable 12 percent increase from the 352 players that entered last year when Australia's Sotirios Kiokpasoglou won the event for A$106,380.

After South Korea's Sung Joo Hyun was eliminated in 10th place for A$9,760, only players from two countries were remaining with six Aussies and three Americans.

The Americans had a three-to-two advantage against the home country after four Aussies hit the rail in succession including Frank Marion (ninth place - A$11,815), Brendan Williams (eighth place - A$14,125), Kan Lin (seventh place A$16,695) and Jarrod Thatcher (sixth place A$21,830).

A pair of Americans were the next to go, giving the advantage back to the Aussies after William Foxen added to his $2.3 million in live cashes with a fifth-place finish worth A$29,965 and Mitchel Caton exited in fourth place for A$36,465.

Australia's Nikolaos Haidaris recorded his fourth cash this festival after being the next to go in third place for A$46,220.

This left American Orson Young and Truong battling it out heads up for the title. The title remained on home soil after Truong bested his opponent to add to his more than $1 million in live tournament winnings and collect the coveted ANTON ring. Young didn't walk away empty-handed as he added to his nearly $600,000 in live tournament cashes after collecting the healthy runner-up prize of A$74,455.
