WSOP Europe Returns to King’s Casino Rozvadov, 2018 Schedule Announced
With the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas well under way, series organizers released the schedule for WSOP Europe on Monday – with 10 gold bracelets on the line from Oct. 9 – Nov. 2. The event will once again be held at King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, with millions of euros in guaranteed prize pools.
In its second year hosting the festivities, the venue will now become the home to the series on an annual basis as part of a multi-year deal that continues into the future with no specific end date for the partnership. Since 2013, the WSOPE has been held every two years, but that has now changed.
Tsoukernik: “It was a dream to host WSOP Europe and I can’t wait to do it again.”
WSOP officials are pleased to be bringing the action back to Europe on an annual basis and with the results from 2017, which attracted 7,689 total entries and more than €25 million euros in prize money.
“King’s Casino does everything big and first class, so we can’t wait to return to Rozvadov for the 2018 World Series of Poker Europe,” WSOP executive director Ty Stewart said. “With €13 million in guarantees on bracelet events, plus a phenomenal cash game scene, we highly recommend you make plans to join us this fall in Europe’s best-kept poker secret.”
The events will feature a €5 million guaranteed Main Event, a €5 million guaranteed High Roller, and €3 million more in guarantees during poker’s largest European festival. The first event, the €550 Colossus No-Limit Hold’em with a €1 million guarantee, will kick off on Oct.9. The Main Event will close out the series and begins on Oct. 27 with two starting flights. Those who bust out of the first flight will be able to re-enter into the second flight.
In Rozvadov, players can expect a total of €13 million in prize pool guarantees. Adding to the poker scene at King’s, a WSOP Circuit event takes place before the series – adding another couple of million in guaranteed prize pools. The circuit events run from Sept. 20 – Oct. 8 and features 12 championship ring tournaments.
In total between the two events, players will be treated to 47 consecutive days of action from Sept. 20, with the first WSOP Circuit gold ring event, and continuing through Nov. 5.
Stewart: “King’s Casino does everything big and first class, so we can’t wait to return to Rozvadov for the 2018 WSOPE.”
“It was a dream to host WSOP Europe and I can’t wait to do it again,” said King’s Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik. “We hope everyone who came last year comes back for our warm hospitality and generous offerings, and for those who missed out, please join us for Europe’s biggest poker event of the year.”
In 2017, 888poker qualifier Marti Roca De Torres took home the bracelet and €1,115,207. A few years ago, the Spaniard quit his job as an economics teacher to concentrate on poker. He won a a €220 satellite on 888poker.es and turned that into the WSOPE title and massive score. Also of note, 888poker ambassador Dominik NItsche took home €3,487,463 and a bracelet for winning the €111,111 High Roller for One Drop.
King’s Casino is located in the Czech Republic near the German border, between Prague and Munich. Its location in Central Europe makes it convenient for Europeans to attend and play. Here’s the complete schedule events:
