The inaugural XL Winter Series is in its home stretch at 888poker with just six events remaining from its 34-event schedule.
Friday was another big night with all three XL Winter events smashing their guarantees.
Russia's "MaratTash1" nearly made history by almost shipping two events on Friday. He managed to find the winner's circle in the biggest of the three events yesterday but was unable to seal the deal in the second one to take eighth place. It was still a remarkable performance by the Russian regardless of missing out on becoming the festival's first two-time winner.

The 888poker XL Winter #26 - $25,000 Deepstack was the biggest of the three XL Winter events on Friday with a $25,000 guarantee. The tournament was a huge success with 725 entrants generating a $35,790 prize pool to obliterate the guarantee.
The tournament was a long one for those that went deep as it took nearly 9 1/2 hours to play out from start to finish. Russia's "MaratTash1" emerged victorious to collect the $6,757 top prize after defeating Romania's "gambl3rinh0" (second - $4,951) in heads-up play.
United Kingdom's "33betwizkid" was also on the podium and banked $3,647 for third place.
