When Benny Glaser chose his "RunGodlike" PokerStars alias, little did he know that it would seemingly bestow magical powers and allow him to run, well, God like. Glaser was already regarded as one of the best mixed game players of all time before the 2023 PokerStars World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP), but he has now cemented those claims with some phenomenal performances at the virtual felt.
Before the weekend, Glaser took down the WCOOP 53-H: $2,100 PLO8 6-Max event for $44,201. The victory was Glaser's fourth of the 2023 WCOOP, his 12th overall, and took his 'COOP wins to a record-breaking 22.
Most people would be happy to take the rest of the series off and bask in the glory of their ridiculous achievements, but Glaser is not like most people;he is a beast of the Hold'em games.
In the early hours of September 24, Glaser came out on top in the WCOOP 61-H: $1,050 NL 5-Card Draw, banked $14,207 more in prize money, and claimed his 13th WCOOP title, his fifth of the current series, and his 23rd 'COOP victory!
Glaser's latest WCOOP success was made all the more sweeter by the fact the final table was a stacked affair. Fellow series crusher Tobias "Senkel92" Leknes, Sweden's "WhatIfGod", Renan "Internett93o" Bruschi, and Espen "_sennj_" Sandvik were all present and correct at te final table, and Glaser left them in his wake.
The $2,100 World Championship of 8-Game shuffles up and deals at 5:30 p.m. UK time on September 25, and PokerStars may as well save everyone the bother of playing and just hand Glaser the title right now.

Veldhuis' WCOOP Wait Continues Despite a Super Sunday
A WCOOP victory is long overdue for Team PokerStars' Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis, but that long wait is surely about to end judging by the incredible form Veldhuis showed over the weekend.
Although Veldhuis did not manage to bank his maiden WCOOP title, he came agonizingly close in four events. First, the Belgium-based Dutch star finished fourth in the $10,300 8-Game event for $22,629. Veldhuis also captured $15,368 for a third-place finish in the $1,050 NLHE 4-Max Turbo PKO, and another $34,067 for a runner-up finish in the $1,050 NLHE Turbo event.
Sandwiched between those deep runs was another third-place finish, this time in the WCOOP 56-H: $5,200 NLHE 6-max Turbo High Roller, which came with $58,065 in prize money. Veldhuis' elimination left Austria's "Jesper8" heads-up against Alberto "alberto.m7" Meran of the Dominican Republic, and Meran got the job done. Meran raked in $103,915 leaving the runner-up to scoop $77,678.
Veldhuis' Super Sunday put the Dutchman back into the black for the series, going from a $97,000 hole to a $32,000 profit. Veldhuis is one to watch going into the final week of the 2023 WCOOP.
