Ten Remain in WSOP Tournament of Champions w/ $200,000 Up Top

WSOP TOC Day 2

The first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet event of the summer continued today at Commerce Casino in Los Angeles with Day 2 of the Tournament of Champions and wrapped up with just ten players remaining in the fight for the remaining $1 million freeroll prize pool.

Each returning player is guaranteed a payday of at least $9,700, but all eyes are on the $200,000 and WSOP bracelet up top for the eventual champion.

Those who bagged on Day 2 include Arkansas' Richard Gebhart, Pennsylvania's Lavern Wasson, California's Cody Bell and Houston firefighter Scott Dulaney, who last summer won the $600 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack for his first bracelet and $194,155.

After an eventful Day 1 that drew 559 bracelet and Circuit ring winners, Day 2 saw the money bubble burst and plenty of streamed highlights.

Those highlights included a near triple up for four-time ring winner Albert Gorelik as his Big Slick cracked the kings of seven-time ring winner Michael McNicholas and the queens of online crusher Chris Moorman in a dramatic hand.

Moorman's stack took a big hit but the British online wizard stayed alive before being eliminated just a few spots off the final table toward the end of the night.

Other players who made late runs into Day 2 include Kyler Scheriger, Mike Peters, Georgios Tsouloftas, Darrell Gaudette and Day 1 big stack Jim Collopy.

Day 3 will get underway on May 24 and will continue with 60-minute levels with blinds starting back up at 25,000/50,000/50,000.

Day 3 will play down to a winner, who will win $200,000 in freeroll prize money and be the first WSOP bracelet winner of the summer.
