The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) festival at the Horseshoe Tunica came to a close yesterday after two weeks of action and no shortage of notable winners.
The big headline out of the event was Maurice Hawkins's winning his 19th WSOPC ring, finally catching up with record setter Ari Engel. That headline was further amplified by Hawkins speaking out about previous accusations that he failed to pay his backers.
Hawkins won his 19th ring in WSOPC Event #6: $400 No-Limit Hold'em Monster Stack, earning $34,711 for his first-place finish. He also went on to final table the $1,700 Main Event. New York's Vincent Moscati went on to win the event.
Vincent Moscati Reaches Double Digits

Hawkins came close to breaking the record that he and several others have been chasing aggressively this season. After winning ring #19, he managed a deep run in the Main Event, finishing in eighth place and making the final table. He won $11,096 for his eighth-place finish.
Vincent Moscati went on to beat Michael Esquivel heads up to take down the event. Esquivel took home $74,552.

This was Moscati's ninth ring. To earn it, he had to outplay a field of 371 entries, winning the $111,454 first place prize, cut from the $562,065 prize pool.
Moscati barely had a few days to get used to the weight of the new ring on his finger before he won his tenth ring. In doing so, Moscati became the 20th player to reach double digits in Circuit rings.
