Comeskey in London: Poker, Comedy, and a Big Year on the Felt
Table Of Contents
The PokerStars Women’s Summer Festival has taken over London this week, bringing together players from around the globe for a packed schedule of poker, entertainment, and community events aimed at celebrating female poker players.
From the £1,100 Women’s High Roller to satellites, qualifiers, and off-the-felt activities like cocktail receptions and comedy nights, the festival is designed to celebrate women in poker while offering serious competition.
This is not Caitlin Comeskey’s first time in London, nor her first Women’s Festival, but the Texas-based poker pro says the energy never gets old.
"It’s such a dream to be able to come over to Europe," the PokerStars Ambassador told PokerNews. "I feel so blessed to hop the pond and play a fun event. KJ [Kerryjane Craigie] does such a good job curating this and creating a great environment, so I’m more than thrilled to be here."
The PokerStars Women’s Summer Festival is living up to its name, she says, with far more than just poker on the schedule.
"We’ve had a cocktail hour, and [on Friday] I’m headlining the comedy show. I’ve been prepping with two shows leading up: one in Vegas and one at Thunder Valley. This is my first time headlining internationally, so I’m super excited!"
Women’s High Rollers: Progression and Competition
This week also featured the £1,100 Women’s High Roller, an event Comeskey says brings a sharper competitive edge than most women’s tournaments.
"All players look for progression in their careers, but especially for women, these events give them that next step"
"In the Women’s High Roller events I’ve played, like the Venetian this summer, where I went deep, there’s a lot more preflop aggression than you see in smaller buy-ins. There are plenty of players who’ll call down light and put you to the test. It’s a higher level of competition."
She sees these tournaments as a vital progression point for women in poker.
"All players look for progression in their careers, but especially for women, these events give them that next step. You can go from a regular Ladies Event to testing yourself in a 1K High Roller."
The festival even offered a qualifier, with seven players winning seats into the High Roller — an opportunity Comeskey loves to see.
A Year of Mixed Games, High Rollers, and Streaming
Comeskey’s 2025 has been busy both live and online. In addition to her No-Limit Hold’em success, including a $25,000 runner-up finish in the PokerStars Open Philadelphia High Roller, she’s been diving into mixed games with some success.
"It’s been a joy learning mixed games. I still make mistakes, but it’s been a great test of discipline. especially in limit formats, which force me to tighten up."
She’s also building a following as a poker streamer, winning multiple online tournaments and embracing the challenge of remaining entertaining while also trying to play the best poker she can.
"Streaming is a whole other skill set. You’ve got music, chat, promoting your stream, and still trying to play well. Luckily, I’m a big yapper, so I’m happy to keep talking for four or five hours."
Looking Ahead to PokerStars Open Maryland
Comeskey’s schedule isn’t slowing down. She’s excited about more PokerStars Live events in North America, with one in particular on the horizon.
"We’ve just announced PokerStars Open Maryland in October. It’s phenomenal to have more North American stops where players can experience the high-quality dealers and prestige of PokerStars Live events.
"I’m thrilled to be there, and hopefully mixing it up in the $300K guaranteed Main Event."
