Kerryjane Craigie: EPT Barcelona’s Women’s High Roller is a Game-Changer
Kerryjane Craigie, PokerStars Ambassador and Director of Poker at the Hippodrome Casino is in sunny Barcelona this week in time for a poker first! For the first time, a Women's High Roller tournament will form part of the EPT Barcelona schedule when it kicks off on Saturday afternoon. Fresh from the success of the Women's Summer Festival, Craigie's excited for everyone to participate.
The Women’s Summer Festival was more than just another stop on the poker calendar—it was a celebration of community, joy, and progress. For so many women at every stage of their poker journey, it became a reminder that the game is not just about cards and chips, but about connection, visibility, and the confidence that comes from being part of something bigger. The energy, the camaraderie, and the playing platform it created were integral in growing the women’s game.
For me, one of the most powerful moments was seeing the Main Event bring together players from 23 different countries. That kind of diversity shows just how far-reaching the appetite is for women’s events, and how much potential there is to keep building. We’ve heard you loud and clear: you want this festival to grow, and we’re committed to making it happen.
Women's High Roller in Barcelona
Now, as I look ahead to the European Poker Tour in Barcelona this weekend, that momentum feels stronger than ever. This year’s schedule is particularly exciting with the addition of a second women’s event and, for the first time, a Women’s High Roller. These changes aren’t just about offering more tournaments—they’re about opening new doors, raising the ceiling, and giving women more space to compete at every level.
Barcelona is always a highlight on the poker calendar, but this year it feels especially unmissable. It’s the chance to take the energy and bring it to one of the biggest stages in the world. Whether it’s your first women’s event, your first High Roller, or your first step into the EPT itself, there’s a seat waiting for you.
Because I believe the real future of women in poker isn’t just in side events or specialized tournaments, it’s about supporting women to step confidently into the mainstream. Growth will happen not by rushing, but by ensuring every player feels ready to take that leap. The Women’s Festival showed what’s possible when women are given room to thrive, and Barcelona promises to carry that spirit forward on an even bigger stage.
Watch this space! Because the opportunities, the progression, and the joy that poker brings to women are only just getting started. Let’s do that together .
