There were 1,437 total entrants in the $1,700 buy-in World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Main Event at Harrah's Cherokee. But only one player finished the tournament with chips, and that individual is Zachary Fischer.
The ring event paid its champion $324,135 after defeating J.B. Wells heads-up for the ring. Fischer, a New Yorker, hit a life-changing score in one of the biggest Circuit events of the year.
Big Win for Fischer
Four players received six-figure payouts, starting with Shane Lea, the fourth-place finisher who took home $109,942. Warren Sheaves was eliminated in third place for $153,035. That brought out heads-up play between Fischer and Wells, both hoping to leave the Cherokee, North Carolina casino with a ring.

Fischer, on the other hand, earned the biggest live tournament score of his life by a wide margin. His previous top cash went for $135,013, according to The Hendon Mob. On top of all that money, he secured his first WSOP Circuit ring.
The 18-ring series at Harrah's Cherokee has reached its conclusion. Some top pros picked up some big wins, including Preston McEwen, who claimed his ninth ring in a $400 No-Limit Hold'em tournament.
The World Series of Poker Circuit will now shift its focus to three other ring series already underway in Northern California, Atlantic City, and Quebec, Canada.
