PokerNews will be heading out to North Dakota early next month for the Roughrider Poker Tour (RPT) Tri-State Poker Championship.

Action kicks off Oct. 2 at Dakota Magic Casino in Hankinson, ND, a small town in the southeastern part of the state. The RPT has partnered with the Dakota Poker Tour (DPT) for a co-branded series. Points earned in any of the tournaments offered during the series will count towards both leaderboards.

What's on the Schedule?

The Tri-State Poker Championship series runs from Oct. 2-5, and it begins with a $220 buy-in Kickoff No-Limit Hold'em tournament at 6 p.m. Players will start with 30,000 chips and play 20-minute blind levels.

Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. is the first of two Day 1a starting flights in the Championship event, which costs $650 to enter. Day 1b takes place at the same time on Oct. 4. The starting stacks in the estimated $200,000 prize pool tournament are 60,000 chips, and the blind levels are set for 40 minutes.

Unlimited re-buys are available, and those who bag and tag during each Day 1 session will receive a $2,000 bonus. Registration will remain open until approximately 9 p.m. on each flight. Championship Day is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Oct. 5, and the session won't conclude until a Tri-State Poker champion is crowned. PokerNews will have you covered with exclusive live reporting of the Championship event from start to finish.

For those who don't find much success in the first two events, there will be one last opportunity at noon on Oct. 5. A $250 buy-in Second Chance tournament will give everyone who doesn't reach the final day of the Championship event one more shot at glory.
