Following the success of the Battle of Slovakia at Card Casino Bratislava, the Battle of Malta has announced it is taking its popular event to Barcelona in January 2027.
Held at the Casino Malta, the Battle of Malta is one of the most popular European poker festivals, while Casino Barcelona is an iconic venue that is renowned for hosting the biggest and richest live poker festivals. The two are combining between January 20-24, 2027, to bring players the Battle of Malta Barcelona Edition.
Battle of Malta Barcelona Edition Schedule
The highlight of the Battle of Malta Barcelona Edition is the €600 Main Event. Players sit down at the tables with a 40,000 starting stack and play to 40-minute levels where blinds start at only 100/100. Those competing in the turbo-structured Day 1d play to a 20-minute clock.
Battle of Malta Barcelona Edition Main Event Day 1 Blind Structure
The blind structure of the €600 Battle of Malta Barcelona Edition Main Event is superb, especially for a tournament commanding a buy-in at the more affordable end of the scale.
Players start with 400 big blinds on Level 1, with those reaching the end of Level 4 heading for a 20-minute break. They return and play another four levels before enjoying a 45-minute dinner break at the end of Level 8.
Late registration closes after the 11th level, which is when the flight's final 20-minute break occurs. Anyone who max late registers heading into Level 12 will start their quest for glory with 16 big blinds.
After returning to the tables, another three levels are played, the last of which is expected to wrap up around 1:45 a.m.
The Turbo-structured Day 1d follows the same blinds, except there is no dinner break. There is a 20-minute break after the seventh 20-minute level. Day 1d should conclude around 3:30 p.m.
Everyone who advances to Day 2 will play 50-minute levels starting at 5:00 p.m. on January 23. Eleven levels are scheduled, with the curtain coming down on proceedings at around 3:40 a.m.
The third and final day begins at 4:00 p.m. on January 24. The clock is extended to one hour until a worthy champion emerges, doing so with what is likely to be a prize that substantially increases the recipient's bankroll. The €600 buy-in Battle of Malta Autumn Edition, in full swing right now, has seen 5,368 entrants create a €2,413,281 prize pool with a €227,835 top prize!
