HCL

A low-stakes poker player known as TN had a Monday he’ll never forget at Hustler Casino in Los Angeles, California.

The player started the day at the $2/$3 tables before his name was drawn in the casino’s “Be a Star” promotion, which gave him a $5,000 stake to appear on Hustler Casino Live's Max Pain Monday stream. TN made the most of the opportunity, turning that freeroll into an almost $60,000 profit after once needing a three-outer just to stay in the game.

It was a night to remember for TN, who had never before played a pot worth more than $10,000. By the end of the stream, he was the biggest winner at the table.

What is the Be a Star promotion?

Players are automatically entered into the “Be a Star” drawing when they take a seat at any $2/$3 no-limit hold’em game or higher. The winner must be present when called and is staked $5,000 to play the full five-hour Hustler Casino Live stream.

Jack-Four Strikes Again

Is there a more synonymous hand with HCL than jack-four?

The infamous Jack-Fourgate hand between Robbi Jade Lew and Garrett Adelstein in 2022 led to cheating accusations, stolen chips, and a series of investigations that rocked the poker world.

Well, the hand now known as “the Robbi” delivered TN his first big win of the night.

The action began with KGB A2, TN J4, and JT A5 limping in. Jellyfish J10 raised to $600 from the small blind and was called by Raver 74 along with the limpers.

That built a $3,040 pot, and TN made top pair on the J85 flop but was outkicked by Jellyfish. The latter continued for $1,100, folding out Raver and KGB. TN jammed for his last $1,270, JT folded, and Jellyfish put in the extra chips to call.

TN had just three outs, but the turn brought the 4 to vault him into the lead. He excitedly tabled his hand and raked in the $10,580 pot after the 4 river filled him up.

Later in the stream, TN picked off a bluff from JT to win an $11,470 pot and then doubled up through Jellyfish once again in a $31,610 clash, his ace-king held against ace-jack after the chips went in preflop.

TN Has a Huge Sweat in $64K Pot

TN must have thought his night couldn’t get any better, already up more than $25,000, but his biggest moment was still to come when he picked up AA.

With the $200 double straddle in play, JT Q9 opened to $800 from the cutoff. TN just called with his pocket rockets from the third blind before Kevin QJ three-bet to $4,500 from the straddle. JT quickly folded, and TN moved all in for his stack of $31,590.

"Shall I ruin his night?" Kevin asked the table before making the call, as the bigger stack, looking to deliver the freeroller the worst beat of his poker life.

The oohs echoed around the table as Kevin paired his jack on the J62 flop to take the lead. The 3 on the turn added a flush draw, leaving TN on the edge of his seat.

But the river 8 bricked out, and TN let out a huge sigh of relief as he dragged in the $64,030 pot, pushing his profit to just shy of $60,000 for the night.

Final Standings

It was a dream session for TN, who turned his $5,000 “Be a Star” freeroll stake into a $59,710 win and was comfortably the biggest winner of the night. The only other players to finish ahead were For Daniel (+$31,510) and Raver (+$21,620), while several Hustler Casino Live regulars took the hits.

Jellyfish had the toughest night, dropping nearly $48,000, while Kevin, Sashimi, and KGB also ended in the red.
