In the fight for online poker integrity, WPT Global has turned to its most valuable resource: the players.
The online poker operator recently highlighted in its blog the ongoing success of its Rewarding Integrity in Poker (RIP) program, a unique initiative that has already paid out more than six figures (USD) in rewards to those helping protect the site’s ecosystem.
Targeting the "Big Three" Threats
The RIP program is specifically engineered to combat the issues that cause the most damage to fair play:
- Collusion and Coordinated Play: Preventing hidden cooperation and shared strategy signals that turn a fair game into an unfair information advantage.
- Automated Play: Identifying bot-like behavior and coordinated account activity that distorts game quality over large samples.
- Prohibited External Help (RTA): Ensuring outcomes are driven by player decisions at the table rather than real-time assistance or outside tools.
Since its launch, several hundred players have received payouts for providing verifiable reports that lead to confirmed integrity actions. The program creates a "positive integrity cycle" where player vigilance, combined with WPT Global's internal verification, makes it harder for bad actors to operate.
Verification First, Rewards for Results
WPT Global emphasizes that RIP is "outcome-driven," rewarding confirmed results rather than mere allegations. The process involves:
- Initial Screening: Assessing reports and supporting materials.
- Investigator Review: Validating and building the case through internal integrity processes.
- Action & Remediation: If a report leads to confirmed action, affected players are compensated first. Rewards for the whistleblower are then determined on a case-by-case basis, often funded by recovered assets.
