WPT Global Ambassadors at the WSOP; Ivey Way Out in Front
The 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is almost three quarters complete. With the $10,000 Main Event being right around the corner, now is an excellent time to check how WPT Global's ambassadors have performed in Las Vegas.
Most of the WPT Global ambassador stable are online grinders and talented streamers, but a handful have got their grind on at the 2026, with more expected to jet off to Nevada in time for the upcoming WSOP Main Event.
Unsurprisingly, 11-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey is the best-performing WPT Ambassador at the 2026 WSOP. It took Ivey 38 events to register his first in-the-money finish. He crashed out of the $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship in ninth place for $30,292.
A couple of days later, Ivey advanced to the $250,000 No-Limit Hold'em Super High Roller final table, but he could only muster an eighth-place finish. That prize weighed in at $553,270.
Ivey's latest cash came in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship. The Poker Hall of Famer looked set to add the PPC title to his many poker-related accomplishments, but he busted in third for $600,698 during a round of 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw.
Ivey is likely to next be in action during the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship, which starts June 29. It would be a surprise if he doesn't enter the $100,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha event on June 30, too. Then there's the $10,000 8-Game Mixed Championship from July 1 before the $10,000 Main Event from July 2, giving Ivey plenty of options to add some big 2026 WSOP scores to his resume.
Pete Chen is the only other WPT Global Ambassador who has received a 2026 WSOP payout. The Taiwanese star won a bracelet online during the COVID-19 pandemic, taking down the $400 No-Limit Hold'em Ultra Deepstack for $82,560.
Chen hasn't been able to replicate that success just yet. He does, however, have a brace of cashes this summer. He reached the money in the $550 Mini Mystery Millions before finishing 91st from 2,103 entrants in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Super Turbo Bounty, which Mike Holtz took down.
With the 2026 WSOP Main Event World Championship shuffling up and dealing on July 2, it would be right to expect more WPT Global ambassadors joining Ivey and Chen in Las Vegas. Will any of them run deep? Could any of them go all the way? Stay tuned to PokerNews to find out.
