WSOP Paradise Champ Grabs Another Massive Payday & Major Poker Title
Sometimes predictions age better than anyone could have imagined.
Back at Triton Jeju II in September last year, Triton regular Mario Mosböck made a bold call about fellow Austrian Bernhard Binder, who at the time was still a relatively unknown quantity to the wider community.
“I think Bernhard Binder is probably one of the best players at the moment,” Mosböck said when discussing which newcomers were most likely to break through in 2026.
“He has only played poker for like two and a half, three years, which is insane. Incredible, sharp guy, super fast learner and fantastic poker player. So I think he will absolutely crush, and it’s just a question of time until he wins a lot of tournaments.”
The prediction began to materialize before the year was even over when Binder captured the WSOP Paradise Super Main Event in December for a life-changing $10 million payday. And if there were any doubts that result might be a one-off, Binder has spent the early months of 2026 removing them entirely.
In his first live cash of 2026, Binder wasted little time adding another title to his résumé, winning a €25,000 Super High Roller in Austria for €175,000 ($208,197). He then arrived at the ongoing 2026 Triton Jeju already in strong form, picking up two early series cashes — an 11th-place finish in Event #3 - $30,000 NLH and a 16th-place finish in Event #5 - $40,000 NLH Mystery Bounty for $43,000 — before making another huge statement.
Binder went on to capture his first Triton title by taking down Event #8 - $125,000 NLH, topping a stacked field of 84 entries and earning $2,137,953 after navigating through one of the toughest lineups assembled at the festival.
“I love to play the highest buy-ins, I love to play the toughest fields,” the 27-year-old told Triton media after the victory, which came in an event where nearly every seat was filled by one of the game’s elite.

*Denotes three-way ICM Deal
The tournament ended with a three-way finish between Binder, Danilo Velašević, and Wai Kiat Lee. With stacks close, the trio agreed to an ICM deal that guaranteed all three close to $2 million before playing on for the trophy and $200,000.
Three-handed, Velašević found a double to stay alive, but Lee’s run came undone soon after. He was left with a single chip following a huge pot against Binder and was eliminated shortly after, locking up $1,907,447 for third place to cap another deep run in Jeju.
Heads-up lasted just one hand. Binder shoved with jack-seven of diamonds and Velašević called with ace-king. Binder picked up a flush draw on the flop and hit a seven on the turn to take the lead. The river changed nothing, and Binder sealed the title.
Triton SHRS Jeju Results
The Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju followed hot on the heels of the second-ever Triton One festival, with a trio of Short Deck events kicking off proceedings.
Rene van Krevelen secured his maiden Triton title after coming out on top in Event #20 - $25,000 Short Deck Ante-Only. Wai Kiat Lee and Daniel Dvoress then added to their impressive resumes, each capturing their third Triton titles with victories in the $50,000 and $100,000 Short Deck events.
Aren Bezhanyan made history as Armenia's first Triton champion after reigning supreme in the opening No-Limit Hold'em tournament of the festival — Event #1 - $20,000 NLH. Quan Zhou and Ming Chen followed with seven-figure scores of their own, taking down Event #2 - $25,000 NLH and Event #3 - $30,000 NLH, respectively.
Brazilian pro Alisson Piekazewicz produced one of the most dominant performances of the series, collecting an incredible 14 bounties in Event #5 - $40,000 NLH Mystery Bounty. The tournament drew 160 entries to generate a $3.2 million prize pool. Piekazewicz collected $709,000 for the victory, while his bounty haul added a further $1.2 million to his total — a remarkable way to capture a first Triton title.
Daniel Rezaei and Sebastian Gaehl also lifted Triton trophies for the first time after triumphing in Event #6 - $60,000 NLH and Event #7 - $50,000 NLH, respectively, before Binder joined the list of first-time champions with victory in the $125,000 event.

Triton SHRS Remaining Schedule
Action is already heating up in the next chapter of the series, with Event #9 - $30,000 NLH - Turbo currently playing down to its final stages. The turbo drew a field of 99 entries and had reached the final eight players at the time of writing, with another Triton champion set to be crowned shortly.
But the tournament that many players have circled on their calendars is just around the corner. The Event #10 - $100,000 NLH Main Event begins on March 24 and runs through March 26.
There is little time to rest after the Main Event, with several marquee tournaments still to come. Highlights include the $150,000 NLH 10th Anniversary Special, and a quintet of PLO events.
