The Lodge Card Club will reopen its doors later this month, about two weeks before hosting an RGPS Summer Series.
RunGood Poker Series action kicks off at the Austin area poker club June 11, with the Texas poker series wrapping June 21. In between those dates, The Lodge will host 11 ring events with $560,000 in prize money guaranteed.
The Lodge Card Club has been closed since March 10 following a raid conducted by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC). Business assets were seized initially on suspicion of money laundering and illegal gambling. But a grand jury, last month, voted against indictment, paving way for reopening.
Tournament Poker at The Lodge
Poker action will resume at The Lodge Card Club, a major poker club co-owned by Doug Polk, on May 26. Two weeks later and, for the second time this year, the RGPS will head to the Round Rock card room for an 11-event series.
Play begins at 3:15 p.m. on June 11 with the $300 RunGood Summer Opener, a $150,000 guaranteed no-limit hold'em competition. There are five Day 1 starting flights scheduled, with Day 2 and the final table to run on June 14.
The RGPS Lodge Summer Series features a $200 Ladies Event (June 14), a $200 Seniors Event (June 15), and a $300 Big O Event (June 15).
PokerNews will come to town starting June 18 to live report the $600 Main Event, the biggest tournament of the series with $250,000 guaranteed. We'll be on-site live reporting the tournament from start to finish, including all five Day 1 starting flights and the June 21 finale.
The RunGood Poker Series last visited The Lodge Card Club in January, where Jose Garcia topped a field of 1,018 entrants to win $88,007, along with an RGPS ring and trophy.
