Even after his dream of winning a World Series of Poker gold bracelet came true on a day that didn't exist until it did, Myles Mullaly did not celebrate emphatically.

After rolling through Event #84: $5,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold'em, surviving an untold number of all-ins and winning more than his mathematical share of flips, Mullaly seemed as chill as he did during the two days of sterling play in Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.

Mullaly, a professional player from New York, who resides in Las Vegas, bested a field of 1,213 entries that generated a huge $5,579,800 prize pool.

"It feels really good, but it's shocking really, and I can't really believe it," Mullaly said after he overcame a huge chip deficit in heads-up play against Pete Chen to claim the first-place prize of $593,601, the biggest payday of his career.

'An Unbelievable Run'

Mullaly said he felt a WSOP victory was coming, but wasn't sure after some close calls.

"I made a couple deep runs, but haven't gotten to the finish line," Mullaly said. "It just happened to work out today. I just ran really hot. An unbelievable run."

Mullaly, who according to The Hendon Mob has more than $1.7 million in career earnings, finished fifth in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em event a little over a week ago.

He stated he won at least 20 all-ins on Day 1, against just one loss. He was at his most desperate in a hand against three-time bracelet winner Jason Daly, with Mullaly's pocket threes coming out on top of Daly's pocket nines all-in preflop.

With near equal stacks, Mullaly's tournament would have been all but over with a loss there.

Final Table Action

A Day 2 was added to the event, with eight players back for the final table. Chen, who has two WSOP bracelets and career earnings over more than $5 million, held a ginormous lead, with about 40 percent of the chips in play.

But he was quiet early on while others were mixing it up. The shorter stacks were knocked out in short order.

With four players left, Mullaly briefly grabbed the chip lead by winning a huge three-way pot with Chen and Najeem Ajez, who was eliminated in the hand.

Chen then fought back and took control going into heads-up play, as he had a massive chip lead (51,000,000 to 8,500,000) after knocking out Endrit Geci.

But from that point, Mullaly didn't lose a hand.

He doubled up on the second hand with a nasty gutshot straight on the river to get it going, and rolled to victory from there.

"There were just points where I couldn't lose a hand," Mullaly said. "It was meant to be."
