Last September, Alessio La Francesca reached the final two tables of the €2,000 No-Limit Hold'em Monsterstack bracelet event at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe festival in Rozvadoz. Unfortunately, he finished 11th, the closest he had come to capturing WSOP gold.
Fast forward 12 months, and the Albania-based Italian has become a WSOP champion. La Francesca triumphed over 1,514 entrants in the 2026 WSOP Online $1,500 GGMasters Freezeout Championship at GGPoker. His reward was a $316,037 top prize, a $30,000 Super Pass to the 2026 WSOP Paradise Super Main Event, and, of course, the all-important WSOP bracelet.

Day 2 of the $1,500 GGMasters Freezeout Championship started with only 46 players returning to their seats. Those returnees were whittled to the final table of nine, with Austria's "Jokee90" being the unfortunate soul to pop the final table bubble.
The Netherlands' "Gwn Accepteren," which translates as "Just Accept It," had to make do with the $39,504 ninth-place prize after being the first finalist sent packing.
Anton Silyavko and Brazilian Gustavo Pinto were the next players relieved of their chips. They saw $51,231 and $66,438 land in their respective GGPoker accounts.
The final five-figure score of the tournament found its way to Artur Berg, who busted in sixth place. Fellow Brazilian Vinicius "DaddysRun" Escossi then fell in fifth for a $111,735 addition to his bankroll before Marty "dadneedsit" Mathis saw his latest deep run end in a fourth-place finish worth $144,092.
Patrick Brooks, a British grinder residing in sunny Mexico, was eliminated in third for $187,915. Brooks' demise left La Francesca heads-up against Finnish star Elias Suhonen, who recently won a €10,200 High Roller event at the European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona festival.
Suhonen couldn't quite get the job done in this online event. The Finn's runner-up finish earned him $243,696, which left a delighted La Francesca to secure a $316,037 payout, his first WSOP bracelet, and a free shot at this year's $50 million guaranteed WSOP Paradise Super Main Event.
Christoffer Munk Rakes in $220K Score and First WSOP Bracelet
The $1,500 GGMasters Freezeout Championship wasn't the only 2026 WSOP Online event that crowned its champion on September 14, because the $400 PLOSSUS awarded its bracelet and a $220,955 top prize.
Pot-Limit Omaha specialists from far and wide, 6,029 of them to be exact, bought into this tournament and created a $2,266,904 prize pool. Half of that sum was awarded as progressive bounties, with the remaining 50% distributed via the regular prize pool to the top 511 finishers.
Denmark's Christoffer "Chrinopoli" Munk was the last player standing. He defeated Kai Lehto heads-up to claim his first bracelet, $220,955 in prize money, and a $30,000 Super Pass. Munk's victory denied Lehto a second bracelet of the online series, with the Finn winning the $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty PLO event earlier this month.

$400 COLOSSUS Will Crown Its Champion on September 15
Event #22: $400 COLOSSUS drew in 16,455 entrants over several flights, but only nine of them have advanced to Day 2. Those nine sit down at 7:00 p.m. BST on September 15 knowing they are within touching distance of a gold bracelet and a top prize that tips the scales at $752,277.
Brazil's Roberto Filho (93 big blinds) is the man with one hand on that colossal prize. He'll be pushed all the way by the likes of Matt Vengrin (55 big blinds) and Ole Schemion (24 big blinds), the latter coming off the back of an impressive WCOOP High Roller victory on PokerStars.
