Ian O'Hara is an American poker player from Florida, who is best known for winning the $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) for $1,189,408 and his first bracelet.
O'Hara has live cashes dating back to early 2012. In September 2012, O'Hara banked $40,500, his first five-figure score, after winning a $330 No-Limit Hold'em event at Pompano Beach. He won the same tournament 12 months later for $41,365.
A fifth-place finish in the $1,675 WSOP Circuit West Palm Beach Main Event earned O'Hara a career-best $51,472 in February 2014.
At the 2015 WSOP, O'Hara finished 14th in the $1,500 Millionaire Maker for $71,400. Later that year, he was the runner-up in a $25,400 High Roller at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, which came with $527,313 in prize money.
O'Hara continued grinding, and five-figure prizes became the norm. In January 2019, he won $154,734 for a sixth-place finish in a $3,500 WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Main Event. He came close to winning a bracelet that year, finishing third in the $3,000 Limit Hold'em 6-Handed for $55,749.
A third-place finish in the $5,250 SHRPO Championship earned O'Hara $437,350 in August 2021. He then finished second in the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo Championship in the delayed 2021 WSOP for $218,144.
Despite his success at the tables, O'Hara was accused of scamming two prominent pros for six-figure sums. Kane Kalas and Jonathan Jaffe claimed O'Hara fabricated losses and pocketed stake money in order to fund his lifestyle. O'Hara later held his hands up and promised to make things right.
At the 2025 WSOP, O'Hara triumphed in the $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship, winning his first bracelet and a career-high $1,189,408.
