Jen Shahade is an American poker player, chess grandmaster, commentator, and author. She holds the FIDE title of Woman Grandmaster and is a two-time United States Women's Chess Champion. Shahade is also a member of PokerStars Team Pro.
Shahade's first recorded live cash came at the 2007 World Series of Poker, where she cashed in the $1,000 Ladies Event. After enjoying her first five-figure score in mid-2013, Shahade burst onto the scene in 2014, cashing in the $10,300 PCA Main Event for a career-best $43,300 in January and then winning a €10,000 Open Face Chinese Pineapple event in Prague for a new career high of €100,000. She continued to record notable scores in 2015 and 2016, including cashing in the 2016 WSOP Main Event for $42,285.
In 2025, Shahade enjoyed one of her best years on the felt, beginning with a win in August at the PokerStars Women's Summer Festival Main Event in London for £22,200 ($30,084), before reaching a career highlight in November of that year with a third-place finish in the NAPT Main Event in Las Vegas for $291,800, marking the largest cash of her career.
Off the table, Shahade is active in promoting women in poker and chess and contributes as a writer and commentator on mind sports.
