Petkov Runs Into Aces

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Maya Geller, Ben Morrison and Balazs Somodi have been eliminated. Furthermore, Nikolay Petkov also ran out of chips after getting it in with the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. Alejandro Peinado Guillen looked him up with {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} and the board came {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Petkov was drawing dead on the turn already.

The Next Casualties

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Escote No More

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Sergi Escote
Sergi Escote

Stefan Eriksson and David Xarau Navarro have taken over the top spots at their table while former big stack Sergi Escote was just eliminated. Escote peaked at 330,000 not long ago, but now he was all in for a mere 10 big blinds and was called by Xarau Navarro.

David Xarau Navarro: {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Sergi Escote: {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

The board came {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and that was it for Escote.

Geller Doubles; Sirenes and Speranza Eliminated

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

While Maya Geller scored a lucky double, start-of-the-day chip leader Terje Sirenes has been eliminated and he was soon followed by Marco Speranza.

Geller raised to 15,000 and called the shove of Balazs Somodi with {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Somodi was well ahead with {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}, but the board came {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades} to give Geller a set.

Speranza got it in with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} against the {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} of Jonas Kannosto. The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{J-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and Kannosto got there on the river.

Oualgasi Gets Lucky

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Younesse Oualgasi four-bet shoved with the {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} against the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} of Alessandro Predaroli and spiked a king on the flop and river to double.

Then, David Murillo Parda was all in for just three big blinds and Oualgasi raised small. Predaroli moved all in and Oualgasi folded {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} face up.

Alessandro Predaroli: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
David Murillo Parda: {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

The board came {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Murillo Parda spiked a miracle flush.

The Seat Open Keep on Coming

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Roberto Sorzano Torres was all in and at risk with the {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Filippo Lazzaretto looked him up with {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. The board came {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Clubs} and that was it for Sorzano.

Over on table one, barely anyone from the initial seat draw is left. Latest casualty was Abel Martinez Gil, who failed to improve with {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} against the {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} of Yannick Pernot. The board came {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and that was it for Martinez Gil.

Sardone-For?

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

On a completed board of {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}, there was more eyeballing between Alessio Sardone and Nikolay Petkov than at a poker players party with only one minute left at the free bar.

Sardone and Petkov were battling for a pot that was already at an eye-watering 165,000. Sardone, checked to by Petkov, moved all-in for way more than his opponent, and although Petkov thought long and hard about it, eventually his stares were for nothing as he folded. Sardone wordlessly turned over {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts} to show his bluff and stick the knife in. Petkov looked like he had swallowed something jagged as the table pounced on the carcass of the hand. Sardone has chunks.
