John Hesp Returns To the Felt at 888Live Poker Festival London

John Hesp - Made Day 2 888Live Main Event
John Hesp - Made Day 2 888Live Main Event

Day 1c of the Main Event drew by far the largest field of the 888Live Poker Festival London with 242 entries and an eventual 82 survivors packing out the 888Poker room at Aspers Casino, Westfield chasing some of that monster £400,000 guarantee.

Team 888Poker was out in force today with Ambassadors Kara Scott, Natalie Hof and Sofia Lovgren all taking to the felt to represent the badge. It was to be a brutal day for all of them though.

Lovgren was the first one out at the feature table as she called a three-bet from WSOP 2017 sensation John Hesp. Lovgren had ace-jack and Hesp had aces. A deceptively checked ace high flop saw all the money go in on the turn to bust Lovgren.

Scott fell late in the day when she set a trap from a 26 big blind stack with aces but her opponent had pocket sevens and flopped a set.

Hof bust her first bullet all in preflop with kings against her opponent’s jacks who went on to make a flush, and right at the death she lost a flip with sevens to Christopher Yong’s ace-king who then bagged up 153,800.

Some of the other notables who did bag up chips for Day 2 include Steve Watts (134,800), Orpen Kisacikoglu (108,500), John Hesp (86,600), Tiffany Michelle (45,400) and Mr Kara Scott, Giovanni Rizzo (26,000).

John Hesp was playing at the invitation of 888Poker and was on the Feature Table all day, taking it in his stride and sporting his famous colourful outfit and hat. The stream will continue tomorrow with hole cards up and more commentary from David Tuchman and 888Poker Twitch supremo Talbot “Tonkaaap” Parker.

Tune in tomorrow to PokerNews as we bring you Day 2 of the Main Event starting at 2 p.m.
