First Bullet No Good for Constantin

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Adrian Costin Constantin
Adrian Costin Constantin

The title defense of Adrian Costin Constantin is off to a rocky start as the Romanian was eliminated in the final hand of level three. Down to half the starting stack not long ago, he was involved in a three-way pot and saw a {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{k-Hearts} turn.

With more than 12,000 in the middle, Ricardo Graells bet 8,000 and forced one fold. Constantin jammed for little more and was quickly called.

Adrian Costin Constantin: {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Ricardo Graells: {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

Constantin needed a seven or queen, but instead, the {5-Clubs} river bricked off.

Kara Scott can be found on the same table and has dropped below the starting stack.

Tastanis Crowned Bounty King

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Michail Tastanis

The €165 Mega Knockout Side Event attracted a big field of 344 entries the previous night and a prize pool of €33,024 emerged. Of the buy-in €100 went to the prize pool and each knockout secured another payday of €50 for the winner of the hand.

Play was halted at around 3 a.m. local time and the final nine players returned to play down to a champion as of 3 p.m. local time. The field was quickly reduced to the final five when Michail Tastanis pushed over the top of a raise by Luis Larrosa and a jam by Juan Batalle. Larrosa as second-biggest stack in the hand called with nines and Larrosa showed {10-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Tastanis only had {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}, but spiked an ace on the flop and river to send two players to the rail.

From there on out, Tastanis had a massive lead and claimed the trophy soon after. The Greek will also be back for Day 2 of the Main Event as he advanced from Day 1a with a big stack of 243,000.

Teisseire and Di Profio Start Well

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Francesco Di Profio has now managed to more than double his stack early on each of the three starting days, but failed to bag and tag the previous two days. Whether or not the third time will be a charm remains to be seen, as Di Profio is on the way for a third attempt tight now.

Also at more than two times the starting stack in the poker room is Antonin Teisseire, Carmen Zainescu, Yaron Ben Avi and Silviu Baltateanu have started well, too.

Sidhu Takes a Hit

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Kully Sidhu

Gabriel Podovei raised the cutoff and Italo Martin Palao Modena three-bet to 2,000 from the button, which Antonio Perez Vico Barba in the small blind and Kully Sidhu in the big blind called. On the {j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, the action checked to Palao Modena and he continued for 4,200 with 10,000 behind.

Vico Barba folded and Sidhu glanced at the stack of his opponent before pushing all in. Podovei let go and the Italian snap-called.

Italo Martin Palao Modena: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Kully Sidhu: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

On top of the flush draw, Sidhu picked up even more outs on the {5-Diamonds} turn, but the {7-Spades} river was a blank.

Rojas Bows Out on a Flip

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

A raise to 800 was called three ways, which included Carmen Zainescu and Matthijs van den Broek. Pablo Rojas then raised to 5,000 and that forced folds all around. Van den Broek then reraised and Rojas called all in for the last 15,500.

Pablo Rojas: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Matthijs van den Broek: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The board came {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and that spelled the end for Rojas.
