Pustula Above the Average

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

After the departure of Frederico Da Rocha, several players on his former table bumped their stacks above the average and one of them happens to be Jacek Pustula. On a heads-up turn of {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Pustula faced a bet of 3,500 and announced a raise, tossing in three T-5,000 chips.

That was enough to scoop the pot as Pustula chipped up without showdown.

Tsunamy Enters the Fray

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

More and more players keep pouring in to fill the final two available tables in the side room and among those new additions to the field is also Tsunamy, well-known regular from Spain that has been running hot in Marrakech.

He faces Luigi Shehadeh and Frederico Da Rocha, among others, with the latter on his second bullet of the day. According to Jacek Pustula, Da Rocha had pushed with a jack-high flushdraw into the ace-high flushdraw and didn't get there.

Nut Flush for Fernandes

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

On a four-way flop of {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, the action checked to Israel Avraham and he bet 2,500 to pick up two callers. Gonzalo Prieto Gaitan raised to 5,000 from under the gun min-raised to 5,000 and Avraham called, the button folded. Antonio Fernandes in the big blind reraised to 12,500 and Avraham was the only caller.

The {2-Clubs} turn was checked through and on the {3-Spades} river, Fernandes bet 31,100. Avraham used two time banks and called, mucked when he was shown the {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for the nut flush by Fernandes.

Gicovanu Left Short

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

Marius Gicovanu check-called a bet of 13,000 on the {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} turn and the {4-Spades} river was checked. Gicovanu was first to show and revealed {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts} but Daniel Tafur had the best of it with {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

Updated Counts After Dinner

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

Jiang Runs Into a Flush

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

Things have not been running as smooth for Xiao Jiang prior to the dinner break and he has just been eliminated in a hand against Daniel Martinez.

On a {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs} turn, Jiang bet 11,500 and picked up a call to then check the {8-Hearts} on the river. Martinez bet 30,000 and that's how much Jiang had left behind. Jiang tossed in a single T-25,000 chip and once the bet size was pointed out to him, he shrugged and called all-in.

Martinez rolled over the {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a flush and Jiang mucked.

Ignacio Molina finishes 2nd
Ignacio Molina finishes 2nd

It seemed smooth sailing for Ignacio Molina all-day long as he never surrendered the top spot on the final table of the €2,200 High Roller. Leonardo Mancuso, however, didn't give up despite the major chip deficit and after winning the flip not long ago, he would do so again.

Mancuso had chipped up to 40 percent of the chips in play and got it in with {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} versus {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. The curse with eights continued for Molina as the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} board delivered no help to the Spaniard.

A few all-in without call followed and Molina then dropped to around seven big blinds. He got it in with {j-Spades}{8-Clubs} against the {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} of Mancuso and the {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} board sealed the victory for the Italian. Mancuso scores the far biggest payday on the live circuit thus far with a top prize of €52,000, Molina has to settle for €37,000.

The full result of the second-biggest €2,200 High Roller on the 888poker LIVE circuit will be published at the end of the night.
