Another Group of Hopefuls Chase Chang Tan's Benchmark on Day 1b of the 888poker Live Barcelona Main Event
A new crop of players will gather inside Casino Barcelona today and try to match the mark Chang Tan set yesterday when Day 1b of the 888poker Live Barcelona Main Event begins at 3 p.m local time.
Everyone will be chasing Tan’s massive chip lead of 574,000 that he largely accumulated on the last hand of the opening flight. Eric Sucias (378,000) and Ariel Faskowicz (367,000) round out the top three, while Antonio Lopez (341,000), Alin Grasu (315,500), Aliaksandr Posled (277,000), and Guillem Nuez (190,000) also advanced. Only 10 players out of 59 entries survived Day 1a and have already booked their tickets for Day 2.

That is what the players today will try to match when action gets underway. Players begin with a 50,000 starting stack and will play 14 40-minute levels today. There is a break after every three levels and a 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 9, which should come around 9:30 p.m. local time.
This is the second of four scheduled starting flights. Day 1c is tomorrow at 3 p.m., while there is a turbo Day 1d flight on May 17 at 11 a.m. with 20-minute levels. Late registration is open until the start of Day 2 at 5 p.m. later that day, with unlimited reentries allowed during the registration period.
