McConachie bet 3,500,000 on the 5♠ turn and Veciana again called. The river was the Q♠ and McConachie used a time bank before moving all in for 4,925,000.
Veciana also spent a few moments in the tank but eventually called. McConachie nodded his head in acknowledgment and got up from his seat as he showed 10♣8♣ for a pair of eights. Veciana, though, could only manage to reveal 8♠7♣ and McConachie let out a deep sigh of relief as he sat back down to an overwhelming chip lead.
