MacNeil Finds a Call to Double Off Stewart
Level 5
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Dean Lyall raised to 3,000 under the gun and Peter Stewart called in the hijack. Roddy MacNeil then three-bet to 17,000 in the big blind, and only Stewart called.
The flop came J♦3♠9♣ and MacNeil checked to Stewart, who bet 33,000. MacNeil called and checked again on the 4♦ turn, and Stewart announced all in.
MacNeil spent a few minutes in the tank before calling for 71,000. "I think you made a good call, mate," Stewart said as he showed 9♦8♠, while MacNeil was ahead with Q♠J♠. The Q♦ river improved MacNeil to two pair, and he doubled up.
