Hislop Leads the River in Three-Way Pot; Brooke Needs New Glasses
Robert Hislop bet 1,200 from middle position on a flop of 9♣6♦7♦ and Philip Tate called in the cutoff. Jake Millar then raised to 7,000 on the button, and both opponents called.
All three players checked the 4♥ turn. Hislop then led out for 3,000 on the 5♣ river, and both Tate and Millar called.
Hislop showed 7♠5♥ for two pair, and his opponents both mucked.
At another table, Peter Brooke and Steven Nicholson went to the river on a board of 7♣9♣8♥7♥3♦ when Brooke moved all in for 7,300 from the big blind. Nicholson called on the button.
Brooke showed 7♦6♥, while Nicholson had J♥J♠. Brooke got up to make his exit, but Nicholson informed him he had won the pot with his trip sevens.
"I thought you had jack-seven. These things don't work," Brooke said as he took off his glasses and sat back down to collect his double up.
