Soederkvist Smacks the Flop to Bust Mackenzie
Terry Grant raised to 12,000 on the button and Ernst Soederkvist called in the small blind. Andrew Mackenzie then moved all in for 101,000 in the big blind and Grant folded, but Soederkvist called to put Mackenzie at risk.
Andrew Mackenzie: 8♥8♠
Ernst Soederkvist: 6♥6♦
Mackenzie had Soederkvist dominated and was poised for a double up until the flop brought 6♣5♥4♦ to give Soederkvist a set. The rest of the board ran out 5♣2♠ and Soederkvist improved to a full house to secure the pot and send Mackenzie to the rail.
At another table, Cristian Herberth had shoved for 72,000 in the hijack and Jack Hardcastle called on the button.
Cristian Herberth: K♦Q♦
Jack Hardcastle: A♥J♥
Herberth picked up a flush draw on the 8♠7♣2♦6♦ flop, but he missed the 10♣ river and Hardcastle remained in the lead with his ace to earn the knockout.
