Garcia Gets There on the River to Double
Level 12
: Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Roberto Agus raised to 4,000 in middle position and Shahrokh Morshedian called in the cutoff. Sergio Garcia then three-bet to 12,000 in the small blind, and only Morshedian called.
Garcia checked the 10♥4♥6♥ flop and Morshedian instantly grabbed one of his towers of orange 5,000 chips and slammed it in the middle. Garcia called for his last 40,000.
Sergio Garcia: A♥K♦
Shahrokh Morshedian: 6♣3♣
Morshedian was ahead with a pair of sixes, while Garcia had two overcards with the nut flush draw. The Q♣ turn was no help, but Garcia spiked the J♥ on the river to make his flush and double up.
