The Casino Gran Via poker room will be packed today when what promises to be the biggest starting flight yet of the €888 888poker Live Madrid Main Event begins at 3 p.m. local time.

There have been 158 entries so far through two opening flights, but that number will go up significantly on Day 1c. Everyone who takes their shot today will be trying to chase down overall chip leader Fernando Santa Maria (375,000).

Players on Day 1c begin with a 50,000 starting stack, with blinds opening at 100/100. The schedule calls for 13 40-minute levels, with a 45-minute dinner break at the end of Level 9.

This is the third of four starting flights. There is a turbo Day 1d flight tomorrow at noon with 20-minute levels. All surviving players then return for Day 2 at 5:00 p.m. Late registration will remain open through the first level of Day 2.
