Sergio Perez Races to the Lead on Day 1a

Sergio Perez
Sergio Perez

The first of two flights have been completed in the €1,100 888poker Live Madrid 20th Anniversary Edition with 36 players advancing to Day 2. A total of 60 entries were recorded throughout the day and it was Sergio Perez who bagged up the largest stack of 305,000 chips.

Perez finished the day as the only player to cross the 300,000 chip mark as Mariam Dicu (250,000) and Inaki Sole (243,000) round out the top three chip counts. There were just 36 players who advanced to Day 2 thus far but the field is expected to be larger when Day 1b rolls around.

Players were given a starting stack of 50,000 chips and they played a total of nine 45-minute levels on the opening day. One re-entry is permitted and late registration will stay open until the end of level 13 on Day 2. The final table will take place on the live stream on Day 3 which will cap off the event.

The PokerNews live reporting will commence on Tuesday for Day 1b and continue until a champion is crowned.
