Garcia Alba Closes In On Perez

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Sergio Perez came in as the Day 1a chip leader and really started to run up a stack on the feature table, breaching the 800,000 chip mark at one point. However, just moments ago, he got involved in a massive pot against fellow big stack Pablo Garcia Alba.

Perez opened to 12,000 in middle position and Garcia Alba re-raised to 35,000 on his left. The action folded back to Perez who called to see a flop of {k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}.

Perez checked to Garcia Alba who continued with a bet of 20,000. Perez check-raised to 60,000 and Garcia Alba called. The {q-Hearts} landed on the turn and Perez dropped in another bet of 100,000. Garcia Alba still called and the {k-Clubs} paired the board on the river.

Perez checked this time and Garcia Alba slid out a bet of 200,000, leaving just 1,000 chips behind. Perez thought briefly but decided to lay his hand down as the two players are nearly even in chips now.

Costa Bombs the River, Shows the Bluff

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Scott Steble raised to 10,000 on the button and Jose Costa defended from the big blind. The flop came {q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Costa check-called a bet of 15,000 from Steble.

The turn brought the {k-Hearts} and both players checked to the {3-Diamonds} on the river. Costa led out with a large bet of 104,000 which put Steble into the tank. After a couple of minutes, he eventually folded and Costa tabled {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} as he was being pushed the pot.

Deuces Never Lose

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Three players headed to a flop of {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and David Alejandre checked from the big blind. There was a bet of 10,000 in early position and Manuel Clement just called in the cutoff. Alejandre check-raised all in for 102,000 which got the initial better to fold but Clement instantly called.

David Alejandre: {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Manuel Clement: {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}

Alejandre flopped top pair was in big trouble as Clement flopped a set of deuces. The {q-Hearts} on the turn and the {5-Diamonds} on the river were no help to Alejandre who was eliminated.

Nunez Can't Come from Behind This Time

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Ramon Nunez was back down to around 65,000 chips after recently doubling up in the past level. He shipped all in again from middle position and this time was called by David Miguera in the big blind.

Ramon Nunez: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
David Miguera: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

It was going to be a tough ask for Nunez to come from behind again and the flop of {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} provided no help. The {j-Diamonds} on the turn left Nunez drawing dead to the {6-Clubs} on the river.

Moura Turns His Rough Start Around

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Caue Moura
Caue Moura

It was a rough start to Day 2 for Caue Moura who spent the first couple of hours on the feature table being live-streamed at the 888poker channel on Twitch. However, after moving to an outer table, Moura spent little time jumping into the action with a raise to 10,000 in middle position. The big blind called and they went heads-up to a flop of {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

Both players checked through to the {q-Diamonds} on the turn and the {5-Diamonds} on the river. Moura finally flicked in a bet of 10,000 and his opponent check-raised to 40,000. Moura quickly called and his opponent tabled {10-Spades}{6-Spades} for complete air. Moura flipped over {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a flopped full house and dragged in the pot.

Enriquez Doubles Ponciano, Busts Next Hand

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Ian Simpson raised to 8,000 on the button and Paulo Ponciano shoved all in for 74,000 in the small blind. Steve Enriquez also shoved all in from the big blind which got a quick fold from Simpson.

Paulo Ponciano: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Steve Enriquez: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

It was a coin flip and the board ran out {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades} as Ponciano held on for a key double-up.

On the next hand, Enriquez got the last of his chips in the middle with {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and was called by his opponent with {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. A deuce on the turn spelled the end to the tournament for Enriquez who headed for the exit.
