Browns Finish On Top of Day 1E

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Landon Brown

The fifth and final flight of the Ante Up Poker Tour $250 Main Event has drawn to a close with only 11 players moving on to the final day. Landon Brown and Benjamin Brown will carry forward the largest stacks of the flight after a very successful Day 1E.

As far as we know, the two aren't related but they will also join Donald Brown who bagged the chip lead on Day 1C. Landon earned most of his chips by picking off a bluff from Ab Bouanani and then eliminating Ray Lambert. Whereas Benjamin took control through the middle portion of the day, completely running over his table with pot after pot. In what may have been the largest pot of the day, Benjamin flopped a set of sevens against Bob Boyer's ace-king on a king-high board.

It should be considered a success for all 11 players moving forward as all but two of them bagged a six-figure stack. Cheri Beatty (234,500) and Curtis King (220,500) were the other two players above 200,000 chips.

This evening attracted a total of 72 entries, the smallest of all the flights much in part to the fact that many have already advanced to Day 2. It was the last shot for many who were still looking for their shot at the title and a big payday. In total, there were 443 entries which smashed the $60,000 guaranteed prizepool.

When the action got underway at 6 p.m., a small gathering took to the felt but that number quickly escalated by the first break. It was a great first four levels for Ray Lambert who built up a massive stack of over 400 big blinds. However, he was unable to make it last for long as he bowed out just shortly after the last break of the night. Some other familiar faces that failed to move on include Ab Bouanani, Jeff Hartwick, Nick Kolaxis, Jordan Robinson, and Sean Turow.

There will be 79 players returning for Day 2 tomorrow and will play until a champion is crowned. The payouts were released this evening with 45 places getting paid. A min-cash will be worth $405 and the winner will be pocketing $19,690. A full list of the payouts can be found via the 'Payout' tab.
