Reznik Wakes Up with Aces

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
T.R. Reznik
T.R. Reznik

After a player limped and another raised to 3,200, T.R. Reznik three-bet all in for 15,600 from the cutoff. The player in the small blind called and both the limper and raiser got out of the way.

Reznik: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Small Blind: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

Reznik had the granddaddy of all hands and shipped the double after the board ran out a clean {3-Spades}{k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

"Snap Call!"

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Andra Zachow opened to 3,200 from early position and the action folded all the way around to the big blind. He thought for a moment before shipping all in for around 28,000.

"Snap call," Zachow said, as she shoved her chips into the middle.

Andra Zachow: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Opponent: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

Zachow was in a commanding lead and the board of {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} changed nothing as she sent her opponent to the rail.

Dugan Done in Set Over Set

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Not long ago Bobby Dugan was sitting with a big stack. However on our most recent pass through the tournament area, he was down to just 5,000 and all in.

"You missed it, set over set," he said while pointing to John Clifford. Indeed, Clifford was sitting with a mountain of chips and was clearly on the good end of the hand we failed to capture.

Dugan did double his short stack and in the very next hand moved all in under the gun for 12,100, which Melissa Morvay called from the small blind.

Dugan: {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Morvay: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

It was a flip but Dugan needed to improve to keep his comeback hopes alive. That proved easier said than done though as the board ran out {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

On Wednesday, Event #4: $130 No-Limit Hold'em ($5,000 guaranteed) drew 41 entries, which meant there was an overlay to the $3,977 generated prize pool. Only the top six players got paid and they did so by working a deal.

As a result, Michael Petty was crowned champion and took home a smooth $1,000. The other five players each received $800.

Berninger Quickly Ousted Again

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Likang Berninger just re-entered the tournament during the break for a 25 big blind stack, but his hopes of making it to the end of the day were quickly dashed. Bobby Dugan raised to 3,000 from middle position and Berninger three-bet to 9,000 on the button. The action folded back to Dugan who just called.

The flop came {a-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Dugan checked to Berninger who put together a bet of 8,000. Dugan quickly announced all in and Berninger stuck in the last of his chips. Dugan tabled {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} while Berninger needed help with {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and the river brought the {8-Hearts} as Berninger was eliminated for good on Day 1a.

Dunn Makes a Good Call to Chop the Pot

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jack Dunn opened to 2,500 from under the gun and was called by Richie Palase in the cutoff. The two players went heads-up to a flop of {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Dunn led out for 3,500 and Palase called to see the {6-Diamonds} on the turn.

Dunn fired out another bet of 6,500 and Palase stuck around for the {9-Hearts} on the river. Dunn opted to check this time and Palase launched a bet of 15,000. Dunn mulled it over a minute and eventually called. Palase tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Dunn showed the same hand with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} to split the pot.
