One of Australia's most feared online poker players, David "dave798111" Allan is looking to make his first major impression on the live tournament scene here in Queenstown.
Allan had a mighty start to the year with a third place in the PokerStars Sunday Million and a second place in the PokerStars Sunday Storm on the very same day. An incredible achievement in itself, but just weeks later, Allan secured a win in the Super Tuesday to give him online winnings in excess of USD$200,000 in the first two months of the year.
After flopping a straight early in the tournament to double up, Allan has dominated proceedings. He was the chip leader after Day 1 and Day 2, and only lost the lead late on Day 3 after copping a two-outer against Matthew Wakeman. Allan will still enter the final table in good shape, sitting in fourth chip position.
