Ballard Stays Alive
Stewart Ballard final tabled the ANZPT Sydney event back in March, and since then we’ve seen him pop up around the local circuit. Ballard is part of today’s field here in Queenstown, although he was nearly sent to the rail when his pocket aces almost backfired on him.
We’re not sure if there was a preflop raise, but we suspect it might have been a limped pot that let Yvo Molin see a cheap flop of

from the big blind.
Action checked to Ballard who moved all in for 7,850 with his
but Molin snap-called with
for a flopped two pair.
Ballard was looking for an ace, a jack or a running pair on board, and it was the latter that was delivered as the
turn and
river gave him a running two pair to stay alive!
Ballard doubles up to 19,000 with things going south for Molin in the last level of the day as he slips to 30,000.
