Jason O'Brien seems to have it in for the Team PokerStars team. He recently eliminated PokerStars Team Online Pro Roy Bhasin and has now gone on to increase his chip stack even more, this time courtesy of Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang.
We arrived at the hand in question with a flop already out on the felt and with O'Brien and Huang committing 3,600 each. On the turn, Huang check-called a bet of 3,400 and a completed the board on the river.
Huang opted to again check-call, this time a bet of 4,200. When O'Brien tabled , that was enough to scoop up the pot and send Huang's chips in the opposite direction.
The tournament of Australia’s PokerStars Team Online member Roy “GodlikeRoy” Bhasin has been brought to a close.
Bhasin raised preflop, and then fired an unknown bet amount on the flop, another 5,100 on the turn before committing all of his last 9,500 chips on the river on the board of .
His opponent was Jason O’brien in the small blind who was able to quickly call as his monster-combo draw connected on the river. Bhasin showed for top pair which wasn’t enough as his tournament is done.
The 44 players from Day 2b have had a good sleep in and are now at the felt to play the same three levels that Day 2a just played. After three levels of action, the Day 2b players will take a 20-minute break before combining with the survivors from Day 2a to play another three levels.
In order to make the split-day 2 process as smooth as possible, the players will not be doing chip counts when they bag their stacks. However, we managed to grab some of the biggest stacks before their chip bags were tucked away for the next three and a half hours. Also listed are some of the players who were eliminated during the last level, or so.
A full table draw will be provided at the end of Day 2b, before the Day 2 flights combine at 7:30 PM.
The remaining players on Day 2a have been told they will play three more hands before bagging up their chips for a three-hour break. For your information, there is currently approximately 24 players from this flight remaining.
Day 2b will take to the felt in around 20-minutes time at 4:00 PM. We will let you know who survived Day 2a as soon as possible and will also let you know when the Day 2b flight has kicked off.
Anthony Aston opened with a preflop raise from middle position to 2,200 with Ivan Zalac the lone caller in position to see a flop of . Aston tossed out a continuation bet of 2,600 with Zalac making the call to see the hit the turn.
Aston checked and Zalac thought for a moment before tapping the table behind as the put three hearts on board on the river.
Aston bet 6,600 and Zalac instantly verbalized a call and tabled for two pair, but it wasn’t enough as Aston tabled for a better two pair. Aston climbs to 45,000 with Zalac still in good shape with 55,000.
Joel Feldman has been crippled in a cruel river blow after getting his chips in good against a short-stacked opponent.
Feldman called the all-in bet of 19,400 with to have his opponent’s in trouble, but incredibly, the board ran out to see Feldman’s pair pipped by a rivered Broadway straight.
Feldman was calm on the outside but no doubt fuming on this inside as he was left with just 12,000 in change.
Michael Kanaan has gone on a bit of run of late, managing to see his chip stack rise to sit as one of the chip leaders. We recently arrived at Kanaan's table with a board showing and with Kanaan leading out for 5,300 into a sizable pot. Antonin Duda was Kanaan's only opponent in this hand and kind of gave a shrug as he made the call.
When Kanaan tabled for a flopped set, Duda said, "so sick," as he sent his cards into the muck.
