Time for the Snowfest to Begin

Last year's champion, Marcel Schreiner
Last year's champion, Marcel Schreiner

Welcome to the stunning city of Queenstown in New Zealand for the beginning of the PokerStars.net Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Queenstown Snowfest!

It is likely that any player who attended this event twelve months ago has been counting down the days until they could do it all again. That’s because there is no other event like ANZPT Queenstown. It’s not just a poker experience, it’s a holidaying experience. There is something for everyone in this city, with luging, quad biking, skiing and snowboarding just touching the surface of what’s on offer. Add in some world-class wining and dining and it’s no wonder this event is so popular.

In 2011, the victor of this tournament was an unexpected international player hailing from Germany and going by the name of Marcel Schreiner. After a tough week of poker Schreiner defeated a field of 127 players to take home NZD$94,300 and become the champion. This year is expected to be an even bigger spectacle, with more than 120 entrants already confirmed.

In seven days’ time a new ANZPT Queenstown champion will emerge. Who will it be? You will have to tune into PokerNews live coverage to find out. It all starts at 12.30 PM local time. Don’t miss it!
