Give Me Back My Chips

By the time we got to the table there was over 200,000 already raked into the pot preflop and Jason O'Brien had an extra 100,000 out in front of him. It was on Liam O'Rourke and he promptly made it a further 160,000 to go. We can't be entirely sure, but its very likely this was a four-bet from O'Rourke. Either way, O'Brien made the call and a {j-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop was dealt.

On the flop, O'Rourke was first to act and simply announced an all in, putting O'Brien to a decision. O'Brien decided to fold and O'Rourke took some chips back off O'Brien.

O'Rourke Gets Some Back

Liam O'Rourke recently got unlucky against Jason O'Brien, but just a couple of hands later and he has managed to get some chips back.

The action started with an open from O'Rourke in the cutoff. Stewart Ballard made the call in the small blind and the two players would watch a {4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop be dealt on the felt.

On the flop, O'Rourke check-called a bet of 95,000 from Ballard. The {7-Diamonds} turn would see both players check as the {8-Spades} would hit the river. This time O'Rourke would lead for 175,000 and Ballarad would call.

O'Rourke: {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Ballard: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

A rivered two-pair for O'Rourke was good enough to rake in the pot as he still controlling the table as the chip leader.

River Hurts RAWKZ

The action folded to Liam O'Rourke in the small blind and he raised it up to 90,000. Jason O'Brien called in the big blind and the two players would watch some cards hit the felt.

Flop: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

On the flop, O'Rourke led for 95,000. O'Brien then popped it to 235,000 and it was back on O'Rourke. After a few moments O'Rourke announced the all in. O'Brien had almost 500,000 behind and eventually decided to make the call.

O'Rourke's {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for two-pair was looking good against O'Brien's {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for just the one pair. The {3-Hearts} on the turn was safe, with O'Rourke now needing to dodge another three or an eight on the river.

River: {8-Diamonds}

A very unfortunate card for O'Rourke considering if he had won that hand, he would have had more than half the chips in play with four players remaining. Great news for O'Brien though as he has plenty of breathing room and then some.

Aston Keeps Coming

Folded to Anthony Aston in the small blind, he would raise it up to 95,000. Liam O'Rourke called out of the big blind and the two players took to a {8-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop. Aston led for 125,000 on the flop and O'Rourke called as a {5-Spades} was dealt on the turn. This time Aston bet 207,000 and O'Rourke opted to let his hand go.

Oliver Speidel Eliminated in 6th Place (A$39,185)

Oliver Speidel - 6th Place

Oliver Speidel was hangin on by only a thread when he came back from the dinner break, so he'll have to be content with picking up a pay jump with the recent elimination of Craig Blight.

Speidel's last hand of the night occurred when Speidel jammed his short stack in holding {10-}{7-}. Anthony Aston was the player he had to come up against, with him holding {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

The board ran out {2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and Aston took down the pot as the 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event champion adds a 6th place ANZPT Sydney finish to his ever-growing poker resume.

Just a couple of hands had been dealt after the dinner break when we had our first elimination. Liam O'Rourke was late back to the table and had literally just sat down when he dealt the fatal blow to Craig Blight.

O'Rourke held {5-}{5-} and came up against the {a-}{q-} of Blight. The board read {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{a-Hearts} and it was all over for Blight as he heads out the door in 7th place for a A$29,965 score.
