We have just received word that Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang has been eliminated from the tournament. Huang let us know that he jammed for 11,100 from the button holding . The big blind woke up with and made the call and unfortunately for Huang, the board was of no help as Huang was sent packing.
With that, Angel Guillen is the last remaining player to fly the PokerStars flag.
Currently 89 players remain heading into the second level of the day. That means we lost 19 players in the first hour of play here on Day 2. The current average stack is 46,349.
"Diamond justice one time!" screamed Andrew Jeffreys as he found himself all-in holding against the of Emanuel Seal.
There was a flop on the felt at this stage and Jeffreys turned to the dealer and said, "You can either be a hero or a villain, you're choice."
From Jeffreys point of view, the dealer chose the path of the villian as a turn and a river were not the justice Jeffreys was looking for. Back to the drawing board.
Jie Gao is currently 2nd on the ANZ Player of the Year leader board and will be looking for a strong showing here in Perth to try and surpass the current leader Michael Guzzardi.
Gao started Day 2 with a tiny chip stack, but has since ran it up to just under 20,000. Gao's latest victory saw him holding to eliminate a short stacked player who held . The board ran out and Gao added the much needed chips to his stack.
Team PokerStars Pros Bryan Huang and Angel Guillen started Day 2 on the same table and in fact are only separated by the dealer (Huang in Seat 1, Guillen in Seat 9).
Both of these players have lost a few chips since the start of the day, but the story is more dire for Huang who is struggling with just 15,000 in chips. We will be keeping a close eye on these two players throughout the day.
By the time we arrived at Dale Marsland and Amanda Decesare's table, the two players were already deeply involved in an all out war. The hand in question was already on the river of a board and Decesare had led for 10,300. At this point Marsland raised it up to 40,000. Decasare only had 15,000 behind and went deep into the tank. Fiddling with her chips and her cards, Decesare squirmed in her chair before opting to let her cards go.
"He just beat me on Bonus Texas Holdem," said Dean Francis in reference to Karib Karib who he had all in over on Table 16.
Unfortunately Karib, who held and was all in against the of Francis, he wouldn't win here in the real game of holdem, with a board sending the player home.
Ivan Zalac has had plenty of success on the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour, including a final table at ANZPT Queenstown. He's had a good start here on Day 2 of ANZPT Perth and will be looking to make it another deep run.
We recently arrived at Zalac's table on the turn of a board, with Zalac leading into a sizable pot with a bet of 3,500. Zalac's one opponent called and a completed the board on the river. This time Zalac led for 3,600 and the player once again called.
"Flush," said Zalac as he tabled the .
That holding was enough for Zalac to scoop up the pot.
