Big Win For Sayers

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Phil Sayers has just claimed a big pot from Stephen Chidwick.

It started with Sayers opening to 5,500 which David Lim flat-called from the button. Chidwick put int he extra chips from the big blind and the dealer spread out a {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop. Chidwick led for 21,000 here and Sayers raised to 42,000. Lim folded and a {4-Hearts} hit the turn. This time Chidwick checked and Sayers moved all in. Chidwick called and the cards were turned over.

Chidwick had {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for straight and flush draws, while Sayers had {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

Sayers managed to fade on the {7-Spades} river and so he scooped the very large pot to see himself as one of the chip leaders.

Chidwick is still healthy with well over 100,000.

McHugh Doubles Through Guzzardi

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Stephen McHugh has managed to double up through Michael Guzzardi.

All the chips went in on a {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop, with Guzzardi hholding {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} and having McHugh at risk with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

The {3-Spades} turn and the {5-Hearts} river were safe for McHugh and so he doubled his relatively short stack.

Tyrone Second One Out

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Tyrone Liu has just been sent home as the second player eliminated on Day 3.

His final hand saw him four-bet all in for around 20,000 after Bryan Huang had three-bet against a Michael Kane open. Kane got out of the way, while Huang called off the small amount extra.

It was Liu with {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, looking good against Huang's {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

The {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts} board, however, meant that Huang had sent Liu to the rail.

Schlesener First Out

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

It didn’t take long for the first elimination today with Markus Schlesener hitting the rail within the first orbit of play.

Schlesener moved his short stack all in from early position and it folded around to Anthony Legg in the big blind who snapped it off.

Schlesener: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Legg: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Schlesener was chasing an ace but a board of {9-Spades}{J-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} didn’t deliver and Legg knocked him out. The hand took Legg’s stack to around 162,000 in chips.
