Kempson Makes Sick Call

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Corey Kempson and Edison Nguyen just played out a big hand on a {2-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} board. Kempson checked each street and Nguyen fired three bullets, continuation betting on the flop, making it 165,000 on the turn and 385,000 on the river. Kempson called it down.

"Good call," Nguyen said quietly as he tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Spades} for just queen-high.

Then Kempson flipped over his {k-Clubs}{3-Spades} and his rail gasped.

The king-high call was good!

Nguyen is starting to get short.

Corey Wins Small Off Dennis

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Corey Kempson was on the button and opened it up to 125,000. Dennis Huntly called in the big blind and the dealer spread out a {6-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop. Both players checked here and a {q-Diamonds} was dealt on the turn. This time when Huntly checked, Kempson bet 80,000.

"Really?" Huntly asked as he made the call.

On the {5-Clubs} river, both players checked.

At showdown, Huntly showed {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, which went into the muck when Kempson tabled {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Luke Spano Eliminated in 4th Place ($69,700)

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Luke Spano wasn’t able to rebuild a stack as he was recently eliminated in 4th place.

Spano’s last hand saw him three-bet all in for around 400,000 from the button after Corey Kempson had opened the cut off. A flurry of cards went into the muck from all around the table before it was back on Kempson. He instantly called and Spano was at risk.

Spano: {a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Kempson: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Spano couldn’t catch the cards he needed on the {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{k-Spades} board and with that, was sent home with $69,700 for his time.
Three players remain and they are all guaranteed $87,800.

Spano the Short Stack

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Edison Nguyen has just taken a chunk of chips out of Luke Spano. We picked it up on the turn with the board reading {3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}. From the big blind, Spano checked it to Nguyen in position who bet 265,000. Spano called and the river was the {3-Clubs}.

Again it checked to Nguyen who thought briefly before betting 485,000 on the double-paired board. Spano deliberated for several minutes before verbalizing a call, but Nguyen showed {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a full house with fives full of threes. Spano flashed the {3-Diamonds} and mucked as he slips to just 425,000 in chips.

Wayde Rickhuss Eliminated in 5th Place ($54,200)

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Then there were four!

Edison Nguyen opened the button to 130,000. Wayde Rickhuss then moved all in for 450,000 from the small blind. Dennis Huntly tanked in the big blind, eventually folding. Nguyen instantly called and tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Rickhuss had {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

The {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop gave Nguyen a set of kings, but Rickhuss obviously didn’t realise that as when a {a-Clubs} hit on the turn, he gave a fist pump. He soon realised his mistake though and a laught with the rail. The board completed with a {6-Clubs} and Rickhuss was eliminated in 5th place for a $54,200 collect.

The players are now guaranteed $$69,700.

Kempson The New Leader

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Corey Kempson is the new chip leader!

He took over the lead recently after taking a pot off Edison Nguyen on a {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{q-Hearts}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds} board. Nguyen fired two bullets, but gave up on the river, and ultimately showed a junk hand, while Kempson had hit a pair of queens.

The next closest player to Kempson's stack is Dennis Huntly, who has just been sitting stoically behind his stack while the rest of the table rumble.
